Grower's Note: Discovered in 2013 on the island of Borneo, this plant is highly prized by collectors for its dramatic appearance and its notoriously challenging care requirements.
Care Requirements:
Humidity: 90% - 100% Obligate terrarium plant. Will wilt or crisp quickly in ambient room humidity. "
Light: It is an umbrophilic (shade-loving) species, naturally found in the humid understorey of rainforests near cliffs and waterfalls.
Temperature 20-27C
Watering: Keep soil consistently moist but never soggy. Avoid getting any water on the leaves, as this often triggers fungal rot."
Substrate: "We recommend Begonia Ladies Premium Begonia Substrate - it's what we grow our own plants in! Thrives in a consistently moist mix with
ingredients such as akadama and pumice to hold and slowly release moisture, preventing a soggy bottom."
